The Wheaton Development Team Shares a Project Update

The Wheaton Gateway development team continues to advance the Wheaton Gateway project while working through the various approvals and coordination efforts necessary for a development of this scale.

Following approval of the Site Plan and Preliminary Plan of Subdivision in late 2025 and the subsequent issuance of the formal resolutions, the project has moved into the next phase of implementation. As is typical for a mixed-use development of this scale, a significant amount of work occurs before construction activity is visible on site. This includes completing required certifications, advancing engineering and design, coordinating with public agencies, and preparing the project for construction.

In addition, broader market conditions including changes in the regional employment landscape, evolving financial markets, and continued construction cost pressures have affected the timing of the project's original construction schedule. The development team is actively evaluating these market conditions and exploring strategic approaches to position the project for successful implementation as market conditions evolve.
